At only 19 years old family circumstances left David homeless and alone. His desire was for higher education but without the basics of shelter and food, college felt like a dream. Living in a night to night shelter was not giving him enough stability to start rebuilding his life so he started researching longer term facilities in the area.
David came to Beacon House in March and has impressed us from the moment he walked through the door. While learning life skills like budgeting and interviewing at Beacon House he enrolled in classes at St. Petersburg College in Business Administration to learn skills for his career. David also started a job as a cashier and has already been promoted to supervisor with a goal of making it to manager.
We are so proud of the steps he has taken towards independence and look forward to his bright future.
