As a member of the St. Pete community, I enthusiastically support the Free Clinic. The work done here raises up those in need thoughtfully and respectfully, benefitting us all. I am honored to be a part of this dynamic, forward-thinking group of caring citizens!

Being part of a dedicated team providing essential services to neighbors in need with compassion and respect is what drew me to start volunteering at SPFC 15 years ago. I had no idea the level of need in our community and how much people rely on SPFC’s help to survive. The passion and commitment that staff and volunteers bring to the mission are what keeps me here, as well as the heartfelt appreciation of the clients we serve. It is even more exciting now as we move toward a model of also helping people thrive!

SPFC has provided health and food stability within our community for over 50 years. It is my honor and pleasure to serve on the Board of an organization that is truly making an impact and providing stability in the lives of our neighbors, families and friends within our community.

SPFC is an organization that continues to provide two values that are tied to my core values in the St. Petersburg community - ACCESS and IMPACT. Through their delivery of food, health, and housing services they are giving ACCESS to underserved communities and making an IMPACT in the lives of those that need it the most. I am truly honored and excited to be a part of the mission.

Philanthropy is a calling to help remove pain and increase joy in all it touches. The work of the St. Pete Free Clinic helps some of the most vulnerable members of our community. I’m proud to be giving back by serving on the SPFC board.

It is my desire to serve and give back. The Free Clinic is an organization that specifically helps with the basic needs of food, shelter, and medical attention. They provide in a loving and respectful manner; all of which resonates within my soul.

SPFC provides a chance to serve our community in a very direct way. The focused leadership and direct actions for food, health, and support to those in great need are why I choose to spend my time, talents, and treasures supporting SPFC.

I have been consistently impressed with the scope of support SPFC provides our community on so many critical levels of increasing need. I am a proponent from many years in health care and managed care of the impacts of social determinants of health. SPFC’s thoughtful approach to innovatively addressing those needs in our community is successful and sustainable. I am proud to serve such a well-run and important partner in our community.

When I first toured the SPFC facilities and programs I knew this was an organization that was effectively helping and bettering our community by changing the lives of those we serve. It has also impressed me that we’ve been able to adapt quickly and evolve with the changing needs of our community.

SPFC plays a vital role in this wonderful community we call St Petersburg. SPFC supports the most vulnerable in our community when they need it most. I was staggered to learn of the significant numbers of our fellow residents who face food insecurity, have nowhere to turn for their primary healthcare needs, or cannot take needed medications, such as insulin, for lack of finances. SPFC’s programs go directly to helping these people in their time of need. I am delighted to have the opportunity to join their board and support this worthwhile organization.

Why I’m passionate about serving SPFC: In the words of Anne Frank: “Hunger is not a problem. It is an obscenity. How wonderful it is that nobody need wait a single moment before starting to improve the world.” Hunger – including among children, families, the elderly, and the vulnerable – is alarmingly prevalent in our community. By supporting SPFC, we can each stop waiting and start improving our world.

Two words describe the reason for my continued involvement with SPFC. Impact and Compassion.
Few organizations have had such a profound impact on those most in need within our community. More importantly, the services, Food, Housing, and Healthcare, are delivered with compassion and respect, which is critical in our goal to positively impact and transform lives. I encourage you to join me and our many volunteers and community leaders in supporting the outstanding work of the SPFC. Working together we can make a real difference for our neighbors in need here in Pinellas County.

I am immensely proud to be a member of the SPFC board, and humbled by the extraordinary work that the staff does every day to nourish, heal and house our neediest populations. During the pandemic, it has become more apparent than ever that SPFC plays an indispensable role in the health and happiness of St. Petersburg residents.
